House Plants!!! Living GREEN

Okay guys, I'm going to let you in on my newest obsession. Indoor house plants! Due to the fact that I work in healthcare I have become consumed with looking for natural ways to achieve an overall healthy lifestyle. If it's natural and has health benefits I am probably into it. Recently I have been doing a lot of research on ways to purify the air in a cost friendly manner. Top notch air purifiers can go up to almost $800 if not more depending on what exactly you are looking for. I personally can't swing that amount of money at this current time, so I had to start digging for an alternative. In my research I have come to realize that keeping a few house plants around can be very beneficial. Not only are they quite pleasant to look at, and they help set a peaceful environment but; house plants can also help keep the air quality in your home significantly clean of free radicals and toxins. According to NASA you should have at least two plants per 100 square feet of floor space. Studies have found that common house plants are extremely efficient in removing pollutants from the air. Shockingly the plants roots and soil also help in removing air-borne pollution. Most house plants help clean the air in some way, shape or form but, studies have shown that specific plants stand out from the rest due to their amazing ability to filter multiple toxins from the air. Some cancer causing toxins that these plants can remove are: formaldehyde, benzene, xylene, ammonia, toluene and Trichloroethylene.
